Fifteen years ago, Dr. Gerard Vernose had an idea about creating an event to celebrate local winemaking at harvest time (the Italian meaning of the word Vendemmia) – a personal hobby and passion handed down by his father and Italian-born grandfather, but he also wanted the celebration give something back to his childhood community. Hence the Vendemmia Foundation/Scholarship Program and annual Wine Festival were born. You come-a, eh?
